MALAWI'S WEATHER FOR THE PAST TWO DAYS

Warm to hot and mainly partly sunny conditions were experienced the past two days with cool nights.

 SOUTHERN AFRICA REGIONAL WEATHER ANALYSIS

Series of weak high pressure areas are expected to pass across the southern tip of South Africa during the forecast period.

  WEATHER FORECAST FOR MALAWI

Expect partly cloudy conditions particularly over highlands during the forecast period. Cool to locally cold temperatures at night and in the morning.

SHIRE VALLEY:

(Areas along Shire river, Lakes Chilwa and Chiuta Valleys)

Partly cloudy conditions during the forecast period. Cool in the morning and in the morning.

Highest temperature 33°C. Lowest temperatures 20°C. 
SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS:

(Shire highlands, Kirk Range up to Dedza)

Partly cloudy conditions during the afternoons and generally cool at night.

Highest temperatures 28°C. Lowest temperatures 12°C. 

 

CENTRAL AREAS:

(Lilongwe, Mchinji, Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu and part of Mzimba District)

Locally cold at night and in the mornings. Mainly sunny conditions during the afternoons.

Highest temperatures 27°C. Lowest temperatures 11°C.

LAKESHORE AREAS:

(Areas along Lake Malawi)

Mild and mainly sunny in the morning. Hot and mainly sunny during afternoons.

Highest temperatures 32°C. Lowest temperatures 20°C.
NORTHERN AREAS:

(All areas north of Mzimba)

Generally cold during night and in the mornings. Warm and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures 26°C. Lowest temperatures 10°C.

 

WINDS IN MOST AREAS:

Light easterly gradually becoming south easterly by Saturday.
