Moderate Tropical Storm “GIOVANNA’’ is enhancing moist and unstable Congo air mass into most parts of Malawi. Therefore expect locally heavy thunderstorms with gusty winds particularly over southern Malawi to persist.

SHIRE VALLEY: (Areas along Shire river, Lakes Chilwa and Chiuta Valleys)	Hot with locally heavy thunderstorms. Forecast Temperatures: Ngabu Min.22°C and Max. 33°C
SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS: (Shire highlands, Kirk Range up to Dedza)	Warm with widespread rains associated with heavy thunderstorms and showers today. Forecast Temperatures: Blantyre Min.17°C and Max. 26°C
CENTRAL AREAS: (Lilongwe, Mchinji, Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu and part of Mzimba District)	Warm with scattered and heavy rains in the morning and afternoon. Forecast Temperatures: Lilongwe Min.17°C and Max.26°C
LAKESHORE AREAS: (Areas along Lake Malawi)	Hot with Scattered and heavy thunderstorms and rain showers likely today. Forecast Temperatures: Mangochi Min. 22°C and Max.31°C
NORTHERN AREAS: (All areas north of Mzimba)	Warm to hot with locally heavy rains in the morning and afternoon. Forecast Temperatures: Mzuzu Min. 16°C and Max. 27°C
WINDS IN MOST AREAS:	Generally north westerly but gusty in stormy areas.
